One of THOSE Days

Today is only 3/4 over, and it is one of those days where so many crazy things happen. It all started out when Sam confirmed to me that he lost his wallet--again (for the second time in two months). That was about 5:00 a.m. before he left for Seattle for the week. Then, Brooke woke up crying. I laid her back down and tucked her in (it was too early to get up), and a little while later at about the time my alarm went off, she threw up in her bed. So I got her a clean blanket and laid her back down. I went back to my bed to read my scriptures and a few minutes later, Brooke was in my bed. Just as I finished reading, she threw up in my bed. Already I could tell that it was going to be a long day. At the same moment, Roger woke up crying. Luckily Stuart got him up for me. I had to give Brooke a bath, and after her bath, I threw Roger in the tub. We were supposed to leave by 9:30 to go to PE/Swimming at the YMCA, but I called to let them know we weren't going to make it. Good thing, because Brooke threw up a couple more times, this time in the barf bin I got from my last visit to the ER in December (when I was having gall bladder problems). Breakfast took forever, but Stuart was diligent and at least practiced the piano and read this morning. At 9:50 I realized that they were going to announce the new prophet and his counselors, so we all watched the broadcast on TV. By the time we started Language arts, it was almost 11:00. But Stuart breezed through his subjects, even though Brooke was still having "issues". I was actually surprised how well math went this morning. We ate lunch and I laid Roger down for a nap. Brooke fell asleep on my bed and we were able to finish our subjects. It was finally quiet and I was able to do a couple loads of laundry and make a couple paper airplanes with Stuart (we're starting a unit on flight). Both Brooke and Roger woke up about the same time, and as I put Brooke on my lap, she peed her pants (and mine, for that matter). So I had to clean her up, and decided that it was time I took a shower. I put a movie on for the kids (Leapfrog movie) so I could take a shower. After the shower, I sat down on the floor with Roger and fell asleep. I didn't realize how tired I was. Despite all that has happened today, I've actually been in a pretty good mood. I have felt very calm, and I even found Sam's wallet. As President Hinckley used to say, "It will all work out." I'm sure it will.

Seems like I've had a couple of "those days" lately too. Glad you were in a good mood despite all the chaos. I love that quote from Pres. Hinckley too.
