Blueberries 101

We went blueberry picking at the blueberry farm on Wednesday. I've been dying to make blueberry cream pie, which requires a lot of blueberries. So I dragged my kids (we've been here before, and they were only interested in picking blueberries the first time we went). Stuart informed me that the "green" blueberries were the kid blueberries, and they were in school, the "red" blueberries were the teenagers (could it be because they are so sour?), and the ripe blueberries were the grown-ups. So this is what my kids did while I frantically tried to fill my bucket: Roger rode in the backpack, and would stick his hand out and say "a berry, a berry." I would hand him a berry. If it was a sour one, he would spit it out, usually in my hair. Brooke didn't want to pick blueberries; she wanted to pick dandelions. Stuart wanted to sit on a bench and admire his new Pokemon cards he bought with his own money.
