Today Stuart had art class, and today was my day to teach the older kids about Picasso (the art class is an art co-op--we all volunteer to teach--I am not an artist).
Before class started, there was a 14-year-old girl drawing on a large pad of paper. She let Brooke join in on the fun.

I taught the older kids (ages 9-14) about Picasso and Cubism. Here is my self portrait (I told the kids that this is how I feel at the end of a long day):

Stuart was in the 5-8 years-old class. He decided to draw a self-portrait and then construct a house out of his geometric shapes.

I also brought in a Mr. Potato Head. In Toy Story I, Mr. Potato Head says to the pig, "Hey look, I'm a Picasso!" The pig replies, "I don't get it." Mr. PH-"You uncultured swine." It was fun learning more about Picasso. I hadn't studied him since AP art history in high school.
