This year Stuart told us he wanted to make his pinewood derby car into an Egyptian sarcophagus. What a cool idea. So, all we had to do was drill out a big hole in the middle of the block for the basic shape. We ordered the mummy online, and I used polymer clay to shape the top, and I happened to have some Egyptian molds, so we made the bird and the "eye." Stuart painted it gold, and we sprayed it with some glitter. Without adding weights, the car weighed over the maximum allowed limits (polymer clay is heavy), and Sam had to drill holes in the bottom to lighten it up. Tomorrow is the big race. We can't wait!
