Sam's Obsession with Facial Hair

Sam is loving the fact that he can grow a beard while he's rotating at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. It all has to come off before Tuesday because he has to go to Madigan for mock oral exams. I am looking forward to seeing his "face" again. It's been hiding behind facial hair for the past two months or so. Of course, he'll start growing it back after Tuesday, because this will be his only time he'll have to grow a beard until he leaves the military (except on leave). He did shave it to a gotee tonight, and kept the sideburns. When he asked me if I liked the sideburns, my first thought was of that tv show, "My name is Earl." He is proud of his facial hair so much, that he is thinking about keeping a mustache for his chief year. He likes to tell people that I've stopped kissing him since he's grown his beard. I like to add that kissing him with a beard is like kissing the bottom end of a broom. Oh well. Four more months. He knows I still love him, though. . .

Yeah you're totally right! He looks exactly like my name is Earl, I'll have to start calling him Earl Hickey!:)

He ditched the sideburns and gotee, but kept the mustache. My first thought after his "trim" was "Ned Flanders." I think I like the mountain man look better. Good thing his facial hair grows fast.

People totally know when Darryl is on leave. He looks moutain manish. It's definitely wanting something they normally aren't allowed to have syndrome. I agree about the broom thing I'm always excited when he shaves and I don't have scratches after kissing him.

Oh, Sam. It is sad to see the beard go (for now). So do I have to stop calling you Jebediah? I really like the moustache. It makes you look mysterious. I hope the mock orals went well.
